Team have a mathtastic time at Primary Challenge!
Well done to Lara, Billy, Oscar, Jemima, Jocelyn and Oliver who spent this morning at Corsham School competing in a number of maths rounds against numerous other primary schools from the local area. Our team was supported (and inspired) by Lily Overton, a Corsham School A-level student and Neston alumni. It was wonderful to see her and her fellow ex-Neston students, James Redman, Henry Phillips, Ben Ward and Tom Tanner, who are all excelling in maths and sciences. Hopefully our Y5/6 Maths Challenge Team will follow in their footsteps, as they came second out of 16 teams!
Michelle Donelan MP Visit

MP Michelle Donelan visits Neston Primary
Today our Children's Leadership Team interviewed our local MP Michelle Donelan. Here are some of the questions they asked:-
What do you think about our school?
Do you think Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the UK?
Will Brexit have an impact on our school?
We are concerned about the speed people drive through Neston, what can we do?
What do you do as our local MP?
The interview was a fantastic opportunity for the children and the CLT were a real credit to our school.

Sporting success for Neston!
A super well done to our lacrosse team who won the fair play trophy at a recent tournament at Colerne School.
Also congratulations go out to both our Y5/6 mixed cricket team and our all girls cricket team who both won all of their qualifying matches at their respective Level 2 tournaments and were both runners up in their finals which could have seen them go on to the Level 3 competition.

The Yellow Team - Double Winners 2014
The Yellow team completed a sporting double by triumphing in the Cricket Tournament that took place Friday morning, following their success at Sports Day only a few weeks ago
Another fabulously sunny day provided perfect weather for the event which was again expertly organised by Miss Sims and umpired by Miss Sims and Ms Fallon, with support from numerous TAs. Children from years 3 through to 6 represented their teams in matches against each other. The games were played with 4 batters on the field at one time, in order to increase the participation of multiple players - rather than the traditional two batters we would normally expect.
Neston's Stunning Performance at the Bath Forum
On Tuesday 17th June, at 1 pm, around 30 of Neston's finest voices boarded the coach to take them to the Forum Theatre, in Bath. As part of the Corsham Cluster, they were performing in the 'Happy Hour' Concert - sharing and celebrating the feeling of joy. Neston were joined by Box, Colerne, Lypiatt, Saint Patrick's and Corsham Regis.
After sound checks, and a rehearsal on stage to give everyone a taste of the experience, a mix of excitement and nerves swirled around the curved ceiling of the former cinema. There was a wonderful range of performances and songs across the cluster, each school taking the theme in a slightly different direction.
At 4pm, relatives began filling up the remaining seats and the atmosphere was buzzing in anticipation of what was coming. Neston sang 'Let it Go' from the critically acclaimed film Frozen with power and passion, and as the song headed into the climax, the children seemed to grow in confidence and powerfully delivered a spine-tingling, goose bump inducing, performance that made everybody proud. What a team! Here is the end of the performance...
Minotaur - Review
Rhythm of the Night
Look at the fun we're having in Chestnut. The video below says it all. Thanks to the fantastic (and free!) app VidRhythm. We have also enjoyed experimenting with the app after school in Performing Arts Club, where Mr Howe and Miss Apperley used their iPads to show the videos via mirroring technology (whatever is displayed on the iPad is shown simultaneously on screen) on the Apple TV connected to the projector in Mr Howe's classroom.
Set to a pre-determined tune/beat/rhythm all you have to do is record 6 separate, 3 second videos, for example saying 'go' or imitating drum sounds and the clever app puts it together. Add a dash of autotune and voila; a music video in under 5 minutes
