A very well done to our resilient hockey team ably captained by George and Millie, who took part in a cluster tournament on Thursday 23.11.23 and came third. The captains and Sam, Ayla, Lennie, Alex, Ed and Ernie all tried their hardest and worked well as a team.
A big thank you to Mrs Eggleton for accompanying them to the event and for the parents/grandparents and carers who transported them to the event and stayed to support!
A fantastic well done to our cricket team: co-captains Izzie and Olivia, Charlie, Bella C, Bonnie, Erika, Bee, Sienna and Evie who played 5 matches in a Girls Only Dynamos Schools competition at Chippenham CC tournament on Thursday. They started off strong, winning their first match against Queens Crescent but lost the next two matches. They evaluated their own performance and worked out that what was letting them down was that they were being too cautious at taking runs. They lost their fourth match but gained the most runs of all their matches up to that point and in their fifth match, they came fully into their own, getting the runs in and fielding solidly! Izzie and Erika were our big hitters - 18 4s between them! Evie made a great catch and also bowled and ran others out. Bella was our most committed fielder - diving and rolling to stop the opposition from batting 4s. Bonnie became very astute at judging when to run and supported her batting partner ably at this. Sienna was our least experienced player but watched and learned and grew in confidence. Bee, Charley and Olivia made some great hits and accurate bowling and were particularly conscientious at practising and supporting their team mates after lunch before the competition really hotted up.

A huge thank you to our wonderful FONS committee for organising yet another fantastic FRUNdraiser over the past half term holiday to raise money for new coding equipment. It was wonderful to see so many families participating and keeping fit while they were at it - a whopping 4873 km were covered in total by all of the participants!!! The winning team this year was Phoenix, who walked and ran 1406 km of that total! Well done to everyone who took part!
A team of our Y3 and 4 children took part in a rounders participation event with 4 other primaries at Corsham School. They were led in fun warm up, skills based activities by some wonderful Young Leaders from Corsham School, including a Neston alumni, James Frost! They played an exciting match against Colerne to put all of their practise into play. There were some great hits and some super fielding and a whole lot of team work! Well done all of you!

A huge well done to all of our fantastic sports teams: Ursa, Aquila, Delphinus and Phoenix! All of the children from Willow to Beech did what they do best - working in their teams to shine their brightest, laughing along the way, not giving up and all celebrating for themselves and each other! It was a close fought competition as can be seen by the final results!

Wow! 10 Year 3s made it into the Top 20 Fastest Finishers for their age group! Well done also to the Year 4s and 5s who’ve stayed in the Top 20! And excellent to the Y6s who bettered their PBs from last year: Finn, Bella, Bella, Erika, Fraser and Alfie! And fantastic effort to those of you who have made it into the Top 20 for the first time!
A huge well done to ALL OF OUR RUNNERS who all tried their absolute best! The points from this run will go to the School Games Day tally!
Well done to the Quadkids team: Finn, Bonnie, Alfie, Charlotte, Kal, Bee and Evie,who all took part in 5 events at the cluster Quadkids tournament. They started with a relay race, then went on to a 75m sprint, a standing long jump, a javelin throw and finally a 600m run. They gained points for all of their individual efforts and these were added together to make a team total. In true Neston spirit, they all tried their best, supported each other’s efforts and had fun throughout!

A super well done to our A (Beech) and B (Maple) tennis teams: Izzie, Olivia, Finn, Alfie, Kal, Isaac and Viv, who represented Neston at a tournament in Biddestone. The A team did particularly well, coming 2nd overall but, as Sam Hull, the Head Tennis coach who organised the event, said, all the children made great progress throughout the afternoon. They also demonstrated super sportspersonship as they shared keeping track of the scoring for their own matches with their opponents.

A huge congratulations to our netball team: co-captains, Charlotte and Erika and Olivia, Izzy, Bella, Kal, Isaac, Georgia and Bee for coming second in the annual netball competition! All of the team had to take turns playing in every position - GD, GK, C, GA and GS! They represented Neston Primary School beautifully both in effort and in team work!

Our marvellous cross country teams came 3rd in the annual cluster event, hosted by Heywood Prep at Biddestone last Thursday! A very well done to all of the runners who took part: Alfie, Georgia M, Vivienne, Isaac, Laurel, Emma, Ben L, Lennie, Elena, Thomas L-M and Tilly with a special mention to Izzie and Jaxon who came 11th in their races; Kal who came a superb 3rd in the younger of a two year age group and Rowan, Bella P and Alex H, who all came a magnificent 2nd in their age group races! We are extremely proud of everyone who all tried their hardest, as the post race rosy cheeks will attest to!

Our fantastic team was a mix of experienced players and newcomers to the competitive game. Everyone gained from the experience of playing away and representing their school, whether it was building on team work, technical skills or resiliency in the face of challenge!

Well done to all of KS2 for taking part in our KS2 House Tag Rugby tournament! I would like to give a special mention to the Senior and Junior captains who all did an absolutely sterling job of organising and supporting their teams. And I know that they, in turn, would congratulate all of their players for trying their best too!
Ursa were the triumphant winners of this tournament and Aquila were our best fair play team!
A fantastic well done to our hockey team who played against the other schools in our cluster in a tournament on Thursday 13.01.22. The team: Will, Erika, Jack L, Charlotte, Charlie, Flo, Ella, Bella, Bo and Poppy only conceded two goals in 4 matches and scored 7 of their own, winning 3 matches and drawing 1. They have earned a place at the next level of competition - the Wiltshire School Games County Hockey Finals.

A super well done to our netball team: Flo, Fayven, Holly C, Alice, Daniel, Harry, Izzie B, Bella C, Edie and Alfie, who attended a training session with Mrs Long and 2 Corsham School Young Leaders on the 11th and who participated in a cluster competition on the 18th. They played 4 matches - drawing 2 and losing 2. Commendations to Holly C for using her netball experience to support the captains Flo and Fayven and to Daniel for being Mrs Eggleton’s Player of the Match for his sportspersonship, which must indeed have been exceptional to stand out amongst the super attitudes of the rest of the team, who all shone enough to be awarded the Fair Play trophy!
Many, many thanks to the parents who transported the team without a word of complaint, despite the last minute changes in timings for both events! Also thank you to Mrs Eggleton and her daughter Kate, ex-Neston pupil, for accompanying the team to the tournament and supporting them all the way!
